70 Chandos Street in St Leonards have installed solar to tackle their common area energy costs and help reduce their carbon footprint.
Solar Choice was engaged in early 2019 to complete a business case assessment of the potential of solar at the building. Solar Choice’s engineers recommended a 10kW system to meet the daytime load of the property whilst maintaining an optimal return on investment.
The Chairperson of the committee had already received quotes from outside of our network however felt trusted through our impartiality and was happy to receive options from our pre-vetted suppliers. The client received quotes from 2 of Solar Choice’s recommended commercial solar installers and ultimately progressed with one of those options to complete the installation.
The installation featured 38 x 330W Canadian Solar panels with a Fronius inverter with a total DC capacity of 12.54kW’s. The installation required a focus on safety due to building height.
The system will create over 22,000 kWhs of energy each year and will offset over 400 tonnes of carbon emissions through the life of the project.
